My family migrated to Australia in early 80’s. I was always asked to come here and settle but I always refused to settle in Australia because my friends are in Philippines. One day my auntie encouraged me to come to Australia for study and settlement. So, I came in October 2011 in Adelaide to study. I had an enrolment in Building Construction course at TAFE because I have previous education background in this field. Unfortunately, I found in the first class of this course that I would end up working behind the desk developing plans and that moment I decided that is not ‘for me’. Therefore I searched for another college who offers the Automotive Technology courses in Adelaide and I found Sheffield College. I had studied and worked in Automotive sector back in my country and that is why I have chosen this course to study and make my career in Australia. I have already successfully finished Certificate III and IV in Automotive Technology at Sheffield and currently I am studying in Diploma course. I found the course easy to understand. We do study Automotive theory class at City campus which is very convenient to access public transport as I live in South side of Adelaide and the location of the college is close to all types of stores, food courts, banks, information centre and medical centres. My practical lessons are held at Sheffield Automotive Nailsworth workshop which is owned by the college and it has all the facilities including cars, equipment and tools to get the real experience in this course. I must say the Sheffield staffs including my trainers are very friendly and helpful. Especially, I liked the teaching methods of the trainers in this course. I highly recommend this college to my friends as study destination.
